So, last week Amazon emailed me telling me someone had bought something off my baby registry. I’ve never shared my registry, so I was kind of confused but I checked my registry anyway. No one had purchased anything. Thinking it was maybe an error, I googled it, and sure enough, thousand of other people received the same email. Amazon sent an apology email a few days after, saying the email was indeed sent out in error. Fast forward to 2 days ago. I got an email from UPS telling me a package was on the way. I had just ordered a book from Amazon so I though it was that. I clicked the tracking number to see when it would arrive and noticed it weighed 37 pounds. “That’s not my book!” I thought. Remembering the email about the baby registry, I checked my registry. Sure enough, someone really did buy something off my registry! Not just a little something, no, a CRIB!!! Some random stranger somehow found my baby registry and bought Benjamin a crib. 😮😮😮 I’m in total disbelief thinking maybe this is an error too. Guess what? It wasn’t! It showed up at my front door today!
But here’s the thing. You can’t just randomly look at people’s baby registries on amazon. You have to know their name or email address. How this person found my baby registry is beyond me. At this point, all I can say is it’s a blessing from God and accept it as that.
I know her name, Anna Stopper of Southlake, Texas. I don’t know you, Anna, but God must have told you I’ve been been in prayer for a crib for Benjamin. My faith has been rocky lately, but today I’m reminded God does answer prayers. Thank you Anna. ❤️
My little one hasn’t been the best sleeper at night. He’d fall asleep then jostle himself awake five minutes later. Occasionally, he’d let me sleep for an hour. 🎉
Until last night.
Let me say, I’ve tried everything to soothe his colic nature. I tried store bought gas drops, I tried changing my diet, I tried using formula, I tried taking him for car rides. Nothing would help him settle.
So, I found a website that suggested using catnip and fennel seed. Naturally, I thought “I’m not giving my kid catnip!” But further research changed my mind. Catnip you give to cats and catnip herb are used in two totally different ways. Did you know catnip has been praised for its soothing properties for centuries? Neither did I. But the benefits of catnip have been long known and used by many. A mild tea made from catnip is said to improve digestion, help insomnia, and calm nerves.
I made a tea for my son last night to see if it would help him. I used two teaspoons catnip and one teaspoon fennel seed. I added it to one cup of boiling water, and let it steep about twenty minutes. Once cooled, I gave my son a small dropper full. I’d love to say the results were immediate, but they weren’t. He was still rather fussy. I took him for a short walk outside and finally fell asleep. He slept for five hours. Let me say that again FIVE HOURS! This little boy who never sleeps more than an hour finally slept!
I’m praising the Lord and catnip tea for a good nights sleep! 💞
Whew, this season has been a busy one! I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and is having a wonderful New Year!
Praying for a season of abundance and joy to all!
